Colby Edwards Kiwanis Student of the Month - Cascade Christian H.S. - 11/16/2016

Colby Edwards, son of Greg and Wende Edwards is the Cascade Christian Kiwanis Student of the Month for November presented on Wednesday November 16, 2016.

Colby maintains a GPA of 4.0 and has been an Honor Roll student since his Freshman year. Colby is a Junior who has taken many Honors classes - Geometry, English, AP World History, English 11, and AP Calculus.  He has received Academic Excellence Awards in Biology, English, Old Testament Bible, Spanish 1, Weight training, and Algebra 2.

He has been a member of the CCHS basketball team for two years and also coaches kids recreational soccer, as well as being a soccer referee. The Table Rock Soccer Club honored Colby with the "Referee...


Ashley Reitmann is St. Mary's School Student of the Month for November 2016 - 11/10/2016

Ashley, the daughter of Brad and Elaine Reitmann, is a Senior at St. Mary's School who maintains a 4.02 GPA and is ranked second in her class.

She is a member of the Cum Laude Society and has taken five Advanced Placement courses and is currently enrolled in six more Advanced Placement courses her senior year.

Ashley play volleyball for St. Mary's and coaches winter and spring club volleyball. She is an Explorer Scout with the Mercy Flights Explorer Post.  She enjoys mentoring children at Kids Unlimited Academy and serves on the Mayor's Youth Advisory Commission, in addition she is currently President of Interact Junior Rotary Club sponsored by Medford Rogue Rotary.

Tre' Holms named Student of the Month for November 2016 - 11/02/2016

Tre' Holmes, son of Tim and Tracey Holmes and been selected as Student of the Month for North Medford High School. Tre' is a Senior who carries a 3.85 GPA. He has received Academic Achievment in Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra 2, Honors Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, AP World History, and Astronomy. He has been involved with Student Government for 2 years.

Tre' participates in Football, Basketball, and Track. He has lettered all four years in Football, three years in Basketball, and four years in Track.

His post graduation plans include attending college and playing collegiate football, majoring in Mathematics, earning a teaching degree, and a football high school coaching...

Marina Croy, daughter of Daren and Heidi Croy is the Cascade Christian HS Student of the Month for October 2016. She is a Junior who carries a 4.0 GPA.

She is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. As a freshman she received "Student of the Year" in Biology, English 9, Honors Geometry, and Bible. Marina has also received the Departmental Award in Music for 2014-15. As a Sophomore she recieved Academic Excellence awards in AP World History, Algebra II, Stream Ecology, Bible-Apologetics, and Spanish II, and a perfect score on the AP World History exam.

Marina has been in love with Cheerleading since 7th grade and is currently in her third year as a Varsity cheerleader....

Evan Begg is the Student of the Month for North Medford High School for September 2016.

He is the son of Michaela and Robert Begg. Evan maintains a GPA of 3.852 and his Academic Achievements include Advance Placement Calculus, Calculus 2, Chemistry, Physics US History, and World History. He has worked at an architecture firm over the summer and has participated in North Medford's Math, Brain Bowl and Science Bowl teams as well as NMHS Marching Band.

He has received varous Math team awards and one 10th place, two 3rd place, and a 1st place in the SkillsUSA National Competitions in Technical Design. He is also a National Merit Scholarship Finalist.

On November 11, 2015 the Kiwanis Club of Medford present 15 year member Robert Calkins with a Hixson Fellowship Award in recognition of his commit and service to the Kiwanis Club of Medford.  Bob has served as President of the club 3 times, the only member in the 92year history of the Club.  He has held offices of President, Past President, Secretary, and Vice-President.  He also served as Chairperson of the Programs, Donations, Bylaws, and Projects, and served as a member of other committees as well.

We will miss Bob and Chris, they have recently relocated to Beaverton, Oregon to be nearer to their grand children. ...

Dear Kiwanians and Friend of Kiwanis,

Kids need Kiwanis. Without Kiwanis, kids in New York wouldn’t have art supplies at summer camp; kids in California wouldn’t have bike helmets; kids in Missouri wouldn’t have a safe playground. Without Kiwanis, children with Down syndrome in Malaysia would have no place to learn life skills; children in Madagascar would be in the landfill fighting animals for food. Without Kiwanis, millions of babies would not survive the ravages of tetanus. Plain and simple, kids need Kiwanis–now more than ever.

I joined Key Club in 1977 to make a difference in my community. I saw that my efforts had a bigger impact when joined with those of others....
